Come with us go Birding at Presidente Figueiredo - it is a fantastic and unique experience. The city is situated 107 km from the Amazon capital, Manaus (Amazonas, Brazil), on the edge of Highway BR-174, which integrates the Amazon to the Caribbean and North America, with more than 300 species of wild birds catalogued. We depart from Manaus on BR-174 highway, well-paved to the town of Presidente Figueiredo. Arriving there, we settle in a simple and comfortable lodge. This itinerary we are offering is a fascinating bird trip in the Terra Firme Forest! We depart from Manaus at 5:00 am in the morning driving by BR-174 Highway. Our Birtrip will be made in (1) Urubui road, (2) Reserva da Onça Privative Reserve, (3) Mari-mari Privative Reserve, (4) Ordhids’ Park, (5) Iracema Reserve and (6) roadside Orchids’ Road.
Go Birdwatching at Presidente Figueiredo, going directly to Urubui Road provides to watch: Red-lored Parrot, Orange Winged Parrot, Sapphire-Rumped Parrotlet, Red-Fan Parrot, Black-headed Antbird, Black and Red-throated Caracara, Yellow-Tufted Woodpecker, Black-faced Hawk, Crimsom-Crested and Red-Necked Woodpecker, Yellow-throated Flycatcher, Barn Owl, and with luck we will see Crimson Topaza). Afternoon, we will go bird watching at Reserva da Onça, a privative Reserve looking for Capuchingbird, Northern Slaty-Antshrike, Rufous-throated Antbird, Double-banded Pygmy-Tyrant, White-Ringed Flycatcher, Warbling Antbird, Golden-winged Parakeet among others.
On the second day, we go bird watching along Parque das OrquÃdeas, a Municipal Park, looking for Ferruginous Antbird, Spot-backed Antwren, White-throated Antbird, Rufous-capped Antthrush, Plain-brown Woodcreeper, Bar-bellied Woodcreeper, Curve-billed Scythebill, Guianan Red-Cotinga, Marail Guan. We go looking for birds in the Campina Forest (white soil sand), Rufous-crowned Elaenia, Thrush-like Mouner, Pale-bellied Mourner, Black Manakin, Blue-backed Tanager, Bronzy Jacamar all they, Campinas specialists, and with luck we can see the rare Pelzeln's Tody-Tyrant. Amazonian Antshrike, Cinereous Antshrike and many others. At afternoon, we going to watch birds in the Mari-mari Private Reserve looking for Crowned Black Manakin, Blue-and-yellow Macaw, Black Numbird, Red-billed Woodcreeper, Chestnut-Rumped Woodcreeper, Chestnut-Rumped Woodcreeper and we can to see the magnificent Guianan Cock-of-the-Rock.
On the third day, early morning, we go looking for birds in the flooded area at center of the city, where we will can watch Point-tailed Palmcreeper, Red-Belied Macaw, Scarlet Macaw, Little Chachalaca, Orange winged Parrot, Green Aracari, Black-necked Aracari, Black-throated Mango, White-necked Jacobin, Rufous-throated Sapphire, Fork-tailed Woodnymph, Moriche Oriole, Epaulet Oriole and many others birds. Following we will go watching birds at Iracema Privative Reserve, along of the road: Red-throated Caracara, Plumbeous Pigeon, Ruddy Pigeon, Scaled Pigeon, Painted Parakeet, Golden-winged Parakeet, Sapphire-rumped Parrotlet, Black Curassow, Dusky Parrot, Red-lored Parrot, Violaceous Trogon, Black-tailed Trogon, White-tailed Trogon, Paradise Jacamar, Black Nunbird, Channel-billed Toucan, Green Aracari, Black-necked Aracari, Guianan Toucanet, Green Oropendola, Brown Capuchin, Red Howler Monkey and others. Our Check out on the hotel will be at 2 PM, and following we will go watching bird at roadside at Orchids’ Road looking for Yellow-throated Woodpecker, Spot-breasted Woodpecker, Waved Woodpecker, Northernn Slaty-Antshrike, Gray Antbird, Wedge-billed Woodcreeper, Cinnamon-throated Woodcreeper, Chestnut-rumped Woodcreeper, Wing Banded Wren, we will can find Golden handed-Tamarin and other species. Our tour will be finished at 4 pm, when we go to come back to Manaus.
